IRiver has announced a 7-inch tablet for consumers in South Korea. IRiver is known for making multimedia devices and this seems its first step in the tablet market.  The device seems to be identical to the Google Nexus 7 tablet, both in terms of look and feel as well as pricing and specification.

The WOWTab has a 7-inch IPS (In Plane Switching) display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, a quad-core 1.2 GHz Nvidia Tegra 3 processor, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal memory,  Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, 2MP front-facing camera, a 4,000 mAh battery and is running the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.  An addition to the WOWTab is a MicroSD card slot for extra storage, which is not available in the Nexus 7. However with the Tegra 4 processor rumored to come out pretty soon, it is not clear how the device will do in the South Korean market.

The device is expected to be launched in South Korea from February 21st, at a price of $250 approximately. It is not know at this point if the device will be available outside South Korea and in the United States. Maybe if it sells very well , it might get a chance to be released in America as well.
