A handful of Nexus devices on T-Mobile are receiving a new software update today but they don’t bring any major features to the table, rather these updates are security-related and patch up various bugs to ensure that users continue to have a safe experience. T-Mobile has started rolling out the updates over-the-air and they should go live for all devices across all regions later today.
The devices are are going to receive a security update from T-Mobile today include Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 6 and the Nexus 7 LTE. As previously mentioned users shouldn’t keep their fingers crossed for new features since the updates only bring security and bug fixes.
Nexus 6 will receive the same update on T-Mobile as well because the carrier is likely to have its own variant of the update for this smartphone just like other carriers do, and it can be presumed that the same patch will also be released for Nexus 7 Wi-Fi but T-Mobile has only confirmed it for the LTE version right now.
Since the update doesn’t bring much in the form of new improvements and features the download size is quite small, under 30MB, so it won’t take long at all to download it on the device. It’s advised that users don’t waste any time in jumping on the security update.
