Scosche has just announced a spanking new controlFREQ car stereo receiver as well as an accompanying app which will be able to transform the majority of smartphones out there into a touchscreen remote control. Not only that, it will also enable users to stream their favorite tunes from their smartphone or Bluetooth-enabled device without missing a beat, and this universally compatible receiver is also capable of playing music over a USB port, or if you prefer, you can store your music on an SD memory card, or via the front AUX port, as well as iPod direct control.

Do not forget that the Scosche controlFREQ will also boast support for the more common AM/FM RDS enabled tuner and CD player. Alves, Executive Vice President Scosche Industries, said, “No matter where you store your music the controlFREQ has you covered. When you combine the flexibility to play music from nearly any source with an intuitive app you’re guaranteed to have a positive car audio listening experience.”

If you are a backseat passenger and have nothing better to do, why not take control and be the resident in-vehicle DJ? If you are on the outside, you too, can take control as long as you remain within the 33 foot wireless range. The controlFREQ stereo receiver will cost you $139.99 a pop if you’re interested.
