instagram-signWe’ve been hearing rumors that Instagram could be launching on Windows Phone in the near future, although at the moment the app seems to be missing which is certainly ceding market share to Instagram-like alternatives. While it is likely that the app will launch in the near future, it seems that Instagram has finally registered themselves as a developer in the Windows Phone Store. This is thanks to WMPoweruser’s reader, Arbnor, who has been scouring the net for clues of Instagram’s launch and discovered that the Instagram name has already been registered.

Of course it is possible that the name could have been taken by someone else, but a screenshot spotted not too long ago has suggested that the app is in the works and could just be going through the motions before it is finally launched. In any case we’re sure that many Windows Phone users are looking forward  to the app, especially since it is used heavily by those on iOS and Android, so we guess we will just have to play the waiting game for now
