Is it just me, or are smartphone manufacturers these days moving in the direction of water resistant handsets which do not look out of place in the presence of other flagship models? Take the Sony Xperia Z for instance – that particular device has proven to be quite a winner when it comes to performance, especially in unexpected moments when you (and obviously, your smartphone) would get wet, and here we are with hints that the upcoming Huawei Ascend W2 could very well be water resistant.
We have spotted a render of the Huawei Ascend W2 in yellow before earlier this month, where this second Windows Phone 8-powered smartphone from the Chinese OEM is laying claim to the title of being the thinnest Windows Phone device out in the market at the moment with a 7.7mm thin measurement. Huawei’s Italian division have then gone on to post an image that depicts the Ascend W2 being dunked in water, which has led to such speculation of it being a worthy contender to the Xperia Z (although the Sony device is an Android-powered model) where water resistance in a good looking smartphone is concerned.
