The NFL preseason officially kicked off recently with the regular season starting up on September 5, which means NFL fans are gearing up for another exciting season of football. We know what a bummer it can be if you’re planning to watch your favorite team take on their rivals, to only have your significant other “surprise” you with a trip to go apple picking. In the past, you’d have to rely on your radio to keep tabs of the action, but the NFL has released a new app for iOS, Android, Windows Phone and BlackBerry that will literally bring the game to your device.

NFL Mobile’s new application combines two of its previously released applications into one ultimate football fans’ dream as not only does it offer scores, highlight clips and other exciting updates from the field, but Verizon customers can also enjoy live NFL games, for a monthly subscription fee of $5, of course. Those of you who aren’t Verizon customers can still experience the app, just keep in mind Verizon has control over NFL Mobile’s rights, so watching live games isn’t possible at this point.
