Huawei-Ascend-W3-GSM-Insider-Image-1When Microsoft announced their plans to acquire Nokia, they undoubtedly and understandably made a lot of their OEM partners nervous. What would the fate of Windows Phone be? Would Microsoft make it an exclusive platform and follow in Apple’s footsteps where they would control the hardware and software from start to end? Well Microsoft reassured that wouldn’t happen, and Huawei, one of their partners, reaffirmed they would continue making Windows Phone handsets, and sure enough it looks like they are keeping to their word.

A Leaked photo has recently popped up and it is allegedly that of the Huawei Ascend W3, which as you can see in the photo above, is running on Windows Phone. The handset is expected to be a mid-ranged device but will apparently sport a metal design as well, which we have to say is a nice touch and is reminiscent of the Nokia Lumia 925. Word has it that the device will make its debut at CES 2014 which is still a long way to go, so hopefully the hardware specs will keep up with the times.
