LG Optimus Vu

The LG Vu phablet lineup is quite unorthodox, given the display’s 4:3 aspect ratio. These phablets have largely been limited to Asia, where LG has pitted them against Samsung’s Galaxy Note phablets. With Samsung recently unveiling the Galaxy Note 3, it is expected that LG will launch the Vu 3 phablet in the near future. The company recently said that it had sold as many as one million Vu units, and after its rumored Vu 3 announcement later this month, the new phablet is expected to be released worldwide as well.

Rumors suggest that the LG Vu 3 will have a 5.2 inch 1,280×960 pixel resolution display with 4:3 aspect ratio, a 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor with 2GB RAM, a 2 megapixel front and 13 megapixel rear camera, 16GB internal memory, microSD slot, microUSB port, LTE-Advanced support and Bluetooth 4.0. Android 4.2.2 is said to come pre-installed. While the Vu 3 won’t be able to take on the Galaxy Note 3 based on specifications alone, its expected to have an upper hand when it comes to pricing. LG’s phablet is said to be much cheaper than Samsung’s latest offering. The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will launch in South Korea on September 25th, it is not known right now if LG is aiming to make Vu 3’s announcement before that.
