Toshiba Encore LandscapeToshiba’s foray into the tablet market is not that markedly successful in comparison to other players in the same industry, but perhaps with the introduction of the Toshiba Encore, their fortunes might change for the better? The Toshiba Encore happens to be an 8-inch multi-touch display device that will be powered by an Intel Atom processor, running on Microsoft’s Windows 8.1 operating system as it has been specially optimized to do so. The Toshiba Encore’s hardware features were specially designed to support a full-spectrum software and apps experience, and you will find the dual microphones and Dolby Digital Plus audio processing deliver a best-in-class Skype experience.

Other than that, each purchase of the Toshiba Encore would see it come with a full version of Office Home & Student 2013, the Xbox Smart Glass app, a free streaming pass to Xbox Music, and Norton Anti-theft among others. Despite sporting an 8” display, you can still hold it in one hand, and the 1280 x 800 resolution display ought to offer you an above average viewing experience, with the entire device encased in a stylish silver textured backplate, measuring a mere 0.42” thin while tipping the scales at 479 grams.

Other hardware specifications include 32GB of internal memory, a micro USB 2.0 port, a microSD memory card slot for expansion purposes, and Wi-Fi connectivity. Expect it to arrive later this November for $329.99 a pop. Enjoy the photo gallery right after the jump.
