Moments ago Google finally announced the Nexus 5, after months and months of endless rumors. The smartphone is now official, almost every recent rumor we heard about the device and its specifications has turned out to be true. Apart from announcing the device, Google has also announced official Nexus 5 accessories. There are bumper cases and a new Quick Cover case, however the new accessories are listed as “coming soon,” so it can’t be said for sure exactly when they’ll become available for purchase.
The Nexus 5 bumper cases protect all sides of the device, they include cutouts for the rear camera and flash. Bumper cases will be available in four colors, yellow, black, gray and red to be precise. Only bumper case available right now is the gray one, but it too is listed as “out of inventory.” Rest of the colors are said to be coming soon. The Nexus 5 bumper cases cost $34.99. The new Quick Cover case covers the entire device, it has a flap up front which when opened automatically unlocks the Nexus 5. There’s one cutout on the flap for the earpiece, but no window for the rear camera, meaning that the flap will have to be kept ajar if one wants to take a picture with the rear camera. The official Nexus 5 Quick Cover case is $50, and is also listed as coming soon.
