BlackBerry-LogoBlackBerry is a company that used to be loved by many in the past, although as of late, many have been defecting from BlackBerry onto alternative and more popular smartphone platforms, such as iOS and Android, but it doesn’t mean that the Canadian company isn’t love, nor does it mean that it is hated either, or is it? According to a report from 24/7 Wall St. who ranked the top 10 most hated companies in the US, it seems that BlackBerry comes in at number 9! We’re not sure what BlackBerry has done to make it to the top 10 most hated list, but apparently the list is based on customer and employee satisfaction, stock performance, and management decisions.

According to 24/7 Wall St., “To identify the most hated companies in America, 24/7 Wall St. reviewed a variety of metrics for customer satisfaction, stock performance, and employee satisfaction. This included total return to shareholders compared to the broader market and other companies in the same sector in the past 52 week,” and “We also included employee satisfaction based on worker opinion scores recorded by Glassdoor. Finally, we considered management decisions made in the past year that hurt a company’s image and brand value.”

We have heard how BlackBerry had recently laid off a few hundred employees, and also changed its CEO a few times in the past few years, which we guess might have affected the way the company is viewed in the eyes of the public, its investors, and analysts. What do you guys think? Does BlackBerry deserve to be on the top 10 most hated companies list?
