htc-desire-8-01Remember the other day an alleged render of the HTC Desire 8 handset was leaked? The handset was actually pretty impressive looking for a supposed mid-ranged device, which begged the question as to whether or not it was real. Well it turns out that the rendering of the device might have been the real deal after all, thanks to a recent post by HTC on Weibo which basically seems to hint that the handset will be announced on the 24th of February at 10AM in Beijing. We’re not sure why HTC is choosing Beijing given that MWC 2014 will be taking place that week in Barcelona, but we guess HTC might have their reasons, such as how the handset might only be a China exclusive.

In terms of specs, we have heard how the HTC Desire 8 might pack a 5.5-inch display with unknown resolution. It will also feature a 13MP rear-facing camera, a 5MP front-facing camera, and will apparently be available in a variety of different colors, such as white, red, yellow, orange, and cyan. Based on the design, the HTC Desire 8 will also pack front-facing stereo speakers which is reminiscent of the HTC One. Either way we can expect HTC to unveil all the official details on the 24th of February, such as pricing and availability as well as the full rundown of its hardware, so be sure to check back with us then for the details!
