So, Microsoft has just announced a spanking new tablet that comes in the form of the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 (which we have already covered in a hands-on session earlier this morning), but what does this mean to the world of business? After all, pre-orders for the Surface Pro 3 will not kick off until 12:01 am Eastern time on Wednesday, but it seems that major corporations such as BMW and beverage giant Coca-Cola have already expressed their interest in this particular 12” tablet.
In fact, the suits over at Microsoft did show off their Surface Pro 3 over to a range of companies who have also shared their interest in picking up this tablet. The entire idea of having something like the Surface Pro 3 would be to replace the bulky business notebooks that executives bring about on their travel, and Microsoft was “blown away” at the reaction they received from such businesses which managed to check out the Surface Pro 3 earlier than the rest of the world.
Other than the BMW Group and The Coca-Cola Company, there is also luxury goods giant LVMH – Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, who have already heralded the possibility of the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 ending up as a “core device” for their corporations. One wonders whether the iPad would begin to look over its shoulder with this development…[Press Release]
