Sony-Xperia-Z2-04So far in 2014, we’ve seen mostly high-end devices from Sony, like the Xperia Z2. However if you were hoping for some low-mid ranged products from Sony, you might be interested to learn about an upcoming handset from Sony. The name and photo of the handset remains unknown, but based on the benchmarks, it has the model number D2403.

From what we can tell, based on the benchmarks, this is not a high-end handset from Sony. If anything, it feels like it could be a low-mid ranged handset, which is great for those shopping on a budget or who wants a secondary handset. The Sony D2403 appears to sport a 4.4-inch display with a resolution of 540×888, a stark contrast to the Full HD display on the Xperia Z2.

It also appears to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor clocked at 1.19GHz with an Adreno 305 GPU, 0.8GB of RAM, and 10GB of onboard storage. No mention of whether it will support microSD, but at 10GB we can only assume that is the case. The Sony D2403 will also come with a 7MP rear-facing camera capable of Full HD video capture, a 0.3MP front-facing camera, and will come with Android 4.4.2 KitKat preinstalled.

No word on when Sony plans on announcing or launching the D2403, but if you wanted something easy on the wallet, perhaps the Sony D2403 could be what the doctor ordered. In any case do check back with us at a later date to see if there are any additional details that can be had.
