LG G3 ‘Prime’ With Snapdragon 805 Release Expected This Week

Reports coming in from South Korea suggest that a souped-up version of the LG G3 is going to be released as soon as this week, July 25th to be precise. Referred to as the LG G3 “Prime” this variant is believed to tout a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor as well as LTE-Advanced. LG hasn’t officially confirmed the launch as yet so we will have to wait for a confirmation, there is no word as yet about its price.

This particular variant will then be a direct competitor to Samsung’s revamped Galaxy S5 LTE-A, which also features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor and LTE-A. The Category 6 LTE-Advanced radio will enable download speeds of up to 225Mbps.

Other specifications are expected to remain the same, these include the 5.5-inch Quad HD display, 3GB RAM, 13 megapixel rear camera and a 3,000mAh battery. The processor, Snapdragon 805, will enable blazing fast data speeds on the device and will also help push performance levels up.

Since Samsung Galaxy S5 LTE-A is limited to South Korea only, there is a very good chance that LG might not launch this G3 variant outside of its home turf. Not a lot of countries have LTE-A networks in place so it really wouldn’t be of any use. I know a lot of people would want to get the Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 at the very least, but it doesn’t look like LG is going to push a processor update alone.
