acer-aspire-switch-11Taiwanese computer manufacturer Acer has dabbled in the world of tablets before, although their offerings are not exactly what one would lump under as the “must have” gadget for the holidays. In short, Acer offers functional tablets, but unfortunately for them, none of their offerings so far have managed to light up our imagination. Still, there is a viable market for their products, otherwise there would not be rumors of Acer working on a new 2-in-1 tablet that will most probably fall under the Acer Aspire Switch range.

It seems that the rumored Acer Aspire Switch 11 is already in the pipeline for a release, since there were mentions of Acer SW5-111 and SW5-171 tablets in leaked Acer documents. If one were to take a closer look at how Acer named their other devices, chances are these two models will arrive with an 11.6” display each, where one of them will most probably run on an Intel Bay Trail processor, with the other one rocking to an Intel Haswell chip.

Other online reports point to the Aspire Switch 11 SW5-111 featuring an Intel Atom Z3745 processor, 2GB RAM, and 32GB of internal memory, with the the Switch 11 SW5-171 humming along to a speedier Intel Core i3-4012Y processor with double the amount of RAM at 4GB and also 64GB of internal memory. Hopefully something official from Acer will arrive soon.
