samsung-galaxy-s5-review-010Samsung’s Galaxy S-series of handsets tend to be very popular and the Samsung Galaxy S5 that was announced earlier this year isn’t any different. In fact Samsung seems to be pretty confident about the handset and has expressed their hopes at being able to ship at least 35 million Galaxy S5 handsets this year.

Well so far it looks like the South Korean tech giant could be well on their way. According to a recent announcement by Samsung Germany, it seems that they have managed to sell 1 million Galaxy S5 units in Germany alone. Last we heard, Samsung had shipped over 10 million units within a month of its launch.

However we have mentioned in the past, shipping numbers and sales are very different. The former would indicate that there is a demand, which is why they are shipping that many units, while the latter would denote the actual amount of units sold. Based on this recent announcement we can only assume that the demand is still pretty high for Samsung’s Galaxy S5 handsets.

To commemorate the million milestone in Germany, Samsung gave away a €500 voucher to its one millionth Galaxy S5 customer which we think kind of paid for itself. In any case good on Samsung for hitting that milestone, although we have to wonder how well the handset is doing in other markets.
