twitpicAccording to a report earlier this month, it was revealed that Twitpic would be shutting its doors on the 25th of September. For those who are unfamiliar with Twitpic, it is a photo sharing service that managed to gain popularity due to Twitter not having a photo sharing feature of their own.

However now that Twitter does have their own, it seems that there have been some disputes between Twitpic and the social network. Now the good news is that if you’re a fan and avid user of Twitpic, it looks like the company will be here to stay. According to a recent message posted on their Twitter account (the irony), it looks like the company has been bought up.

The message reads, “We’re happy to announce we’ve been acquired and Twitpic will live on! We will post more details as we can disclose them.” Unfortunately they did not mention who might have bought them and it is also unclear as to whether Twitpic will remain as it is or if they will be changing their business.

However like they said, we guess we will just have to wait and find out the details later on. In the meantime anyone else happy that Twitpic will not be shutting down in the end?
