fb-tncIt is safe to say that all computer users who have installed an app or program before are liars. How many of you actually read and understood the Terms & Conditions, and yet still ticked the box just to proceed with the installation? Part of the problem lies in the way that such a document is worded – it is unbelievably lengthy and wordy, filled with so much jargon no layperson would read it without getting bored silly. Well, Facebook has introduced Privacy Basics today that intends to provide you with tips and a how-to guide for taking charge of your Facebook experience, basically, offering a dummies version of the traditional Terms & Condition.

With Privacy Basics, one will be able to take advantage of interactive guides in order to answer the most commonly asked questions concerning how one will be able to control information on Facebook. This also means that you can have a greater peace of mind, making sure that you share only what you want. The privacy checkup is a reminder for those who post publicly and want simplified audience selectors.

All in all, do you like what Facebook has done in order to make users know better just what they are getting into? It is definitely a nice gesture for sure, and hopefully, there will be no more social media gaffes with the latest tweak, although I wouldn’t bet the farm on it. [Press Release]
