Different smartphones appeal to different users. For example BlackBerry is focused on trying to capture the enterprise market with their smartphones and services, while Android is catered at users who are looking for the most customizability options, while Apple markets their products as a lifestyle choice.

Well it seems that LG has recently unveiled a new phone in the form of the LG AKA. We can’t be sure what AKA stands for, but basically the phone has been designed to capture the youth market who might be more into products that are bright and eye-catching. As you can see in the video above, one of the unique features of the LG AKA is its animated eyes at the top of the phone.

This is done by attaching a case that covers the lower portion of the device’s display. In a way this helps to protect your smartphone’s screen, but at the same time allows the eyes to animate and display a variety of expressions. The portion where the screen is viewable can also act as a notification center where you will get notified on incoming calls, text messages, emails, and so on.

In terms of hardware, the LG AKA is not your most powerful. It has a 5-inch HD display, LTE connectivity, an 8MP rear-facing camera with a laser auto-focusing system borrowed from the LG G3, a 2MP front-facing camera, a quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz with 1.5GB of RAM.

Pricing has not been mentioned but according to LG, the handset will only be available in South Korea as it looks like there are no plans on bringing it to international markets.
