google-my-mapsIt does not matter whether you are working on a plan for a road trip with your best friend, or if you happen to be mapping out a list of your favorite runs when it comes to a ski vacation, life is a whole lot easier in either scenario thanks to Google My Maps. Google My Maps happens to be Google’s very own custom map creation tool, and from today onward, one will be able to access My Maps directly from Google Drive. Google has made it easier to create, access and share your custom maps – which ought to bode well for those who are always on the move.

Just how easy is it to come up with a custom map of your own? It is a snap to do so – just open up new Google Doc, where you can do so by selecting “New,” then “More,” then “Google My Maps” before you start to let your inner cartographer loose.

All the maps that you have come up with will be accessible via Google Drive, allowing you to organize, manage and share them in a jiffy. In fact, you will be able to come up with folders such as “Travel,” “Hiking” and “Holidays,” and to perform a search through them in order to hunt down your favorite custom maps. It really depends on your imagination. Apart from that, one can also add even more layers and points of interest to the map, import bigger spreadsheets and throw in additional details in each info box. [Press Release]
