Star-Wars-X-Wing-AllianceIf you have always wanted to give the good old X-Wing games a spin, but somehow or rather never really managed to get down to it, fret not – here is yet another chance to do so on a modern platform. Gog.com has announced that Wave II of their DRM-free Lucasfilm game releases has just launched on an official basis on their site, where the digital games distribution company has worked with Disney Interactive to come to an agreement so that these classic arcade titles can be played on your desktop machine.

Hence, for the very first time using the digital distribution method, gamers will be able to enjoy the likes of X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter, X-Wing Alliance, and Galactic Battlegrounds Saga on the Windows platform. Apart from that, there will be another three titles that could be picked up via other services such as Steam in the past – and they happen to be Battlefront II, Dark Forces, and Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords.

That is not all the good news that we have, however, as there are hints dropped that another half dozen more titles are in the pipeline, mentioning, “We’re not saying more right now, but we know the wait will be worth it for six great reasons.”
