apple logoIt has more or less become an established pattern for Apple to reveal its smartphone – or smartphones in September each year, and hence, there should be no stumbling block for Cupertino to do the same later this year. As to what the next generation iPhone will bring to the table, that remains to be seen, but just in case folks would like to have a name to refer it to, it can be called the iPhone 6s, or perhaps even the iPhone 7. Regardless of its name, an analyst has boldly stepped forward to say that the next generation iPhone will arrive with an 8MP shooter at the back.

There has been no revealed reason behind this particular claim, by analyst Pu, although he did mention that Lagran, who happens to be one of Apple’s larger camera lens suppliers, will see lowered profits taking into consideration how the smartphone industry on the whole will be making their way towards larger sized camera sensors, albeit at a rather slow pace.

Jeff Pu mentioned, “On the other hand, we expect the specification migration in high-end models to be from new features, such as optical image stabilization and fast autofocus, which benefit module makers more than lens makers, in our view.” What do you think?
