mipad2When it comes to the world of mobile technology, a year is a long time for sure, regardless of whether one is talking about tablets or smartphones. Having said that, the Xiaomi Mi Pad, which has certainly sold very well when it was first released, looks set to be replaced – and this is a good thing, of course. Leaked live images of the alleged Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 have hit the Internet, and if it were to be the real deal, you can only say that the to-be-released tablet would have a number of design elements borrowed from the Mi Note/Mi Note Pro flagship phablet pair.

One might even go to the lengths of saying that the upcoming Mi Pad 2 is actually a Mi Note that has been stretched to Mi Pad proportions, where the rumor points to it packing a similar glass back as well as having a slightly curved front panel. In addition, the overall layout of the front does share a very close family resemblance with its central earpiece and sensor arrangement.

The machined metal frame also seems to deliver a rather solid build overall, ensuring that the weight remains manageable at the same time. Well, one would only need to be patient and wait for the real deal to be released, which should not be too long down the road, actually.
