hardline drmThere are all kinds of DRMs out there that developers use in their games to help prevent piracy and abuse, and it seems that Battlefield Hardline has one DRM that not many users know about or might encounter. According to reports from TechSpot and Guru3D, it seems that there is a DRM in Hardline that locks users out if hardware changes have been detected.

Now before you get all worked out, it should be noted that there is a limit to these hardware changes and for now it seems that the limit is 8, meaning that users can only change hardware 8 times before the game thinks that you’re installing and playing the game on multiple computers and locks you out.

According to TechSpot, “We were forced use four different accounts to produce this article! After eight hardware changes we get hit with ‘we’re sorry, an error has occurred…too many computers have accessed this account’s version of Battlefield Hardline recently. Please try again later.'”

Like we said this shouldn’t really be an issue for most gamers, but if you’re planning on making some major hardware changes over the next few months, or maybe you want to run some benchmarks on Hardline against different hardware, this is something you should take note of.
