Leap_Grey_RightAngleWondering what handset will BlackBerry release next? You might recall that during MWC 2015 earlier this month, the company officially announced the BlackBerry Leap, the next handset that the Canadian company would be releasing. The handset has been pegged for a release in Europe in April, but what about those of us stateside who want to get their hands on it?

Unfortunately it is still unclear as to when the BlackBerry Leap will be released in the US, but thanks to a recent FCC sighting (via CrackBerry), we at the very least know that it is seeking approval to be sold in the US, but whether or not BlackBerry chooses to launch the device in the US still remains to be seen.

However its confidentiality agreement is said to expire on the 4th of May so it is possible that it could be around that time that we might learn more about BlackBerry’s plans for the US market. Just in case you missed out on the BlackBerry Leap’s announcement, here’s a quick recap on some of the handset’s specs.

The Leap will come with a 5-inch HD display and will come with a 2,800mAh battery under its hood, which according to BlackBerry will give you about 25 hours of battery life (we’re not sure if it is standby or with moderate usage). It will also come with 16GB of onboard storage and an 8MP rear-facing camera. It’s not the most powerful handset we’ve seen but if you’re after a full touchscreen BlackBerry device, the Leap could be it.
