There are plenty of DJ apps available for the smartphone and tablet at the moment. Some of them have great interfaces, while some could use some work, but for the most part the interfaces of these DJ apps are meant to simulate an actual turntable that DJs use when performing live.

However as many have realized by now, it’s not quite the same thing. That being said, if you’re looking to take your DJ ambitions on the road with you, you might be interested in a little gadget called the Mixfader. Essentially this is a Bluetooth crossfader that will allow users to switch between decks via a physical control as opposed to an onscreen one.

According to its creators, it will also help to eliminate any latency issues which is something that is apparently plaguing DJ apps at the moment. Now obviously this isn’t the first time we’ve seen controllers being paired with their respective software on computers/mobile devices, but it isn’t everyday you see crossfaders being sold by itself.

No word on pricing of the Mixfader just yet although it is expected to be released in the fall, so if this is something you think you might be interested in, you can head on over to their website for more information or check out the video above to see it in action.
