For most people Amazon is the go-to place whenever they want to buy something online. The online retail giant sells everything from groceries, FMCGs, clothes, electronics, appliances, watches and much more. Ordering things off Amazon is a breeze and now the company will allow you to order a handyman as well should you require one.
Amazon Home Services has formally been announced today. It’s a marketplace for professional services like plumbing, electrical work, waiting, cleaning, appliance installation and more.
The company was already running a similar service called Amazon Local Services but it was limited to few service offerings and only available in select markets.
Amazon seeks to provide complete peace of mind to people ordering services. It will conduct background checks and ensure that service providers are insured properly for their industry.
If customers are not satisfied Amazon will offer them a re-do or even a refund in some cases. It will allow customers to rate service providers so that other customers can easily make a decision.
For Amazon Home Services the company is working with existing service providers like TaskRabbit, as well as local service providers. This arrangement means that the company can offer more services in more states. There are now more than 700 different services available on Amazon Home Services, available to customers in 41 U.S. states.
