macbook_pro_shippingLast month Apple announced refreshed models of the 13-inch Retina MacBook Pro and MacBook Air, but oddly enough decided to skip the refresh of the 15-inch Retina model. The good news is that if you were hoping to upgrade your laptop to the 15-inch Retina but wanted to wait for the refresh, there is a good chance that will be happening soon.

This is according to reports in which it has been noted that the shipping times for the 15-inch Retina MacBook Pro have started to slip to the 2-3 week mark. Of course this could simply mean that Apple might have encountered some production hiccups, or it could also mean that Apple has an updated model on its way and they’re scaling back on production of the existing model.

It is unclear as to what the refreshed 15-inch Retina MacBook Pros could bring to the table, but presumably it will be along the lines of the 13-inch Retina models. This would include updated Broadwell processors along with the introduction of the Force Touch touchpad that was also introduced in the 13-inch Retina MacBook Pro and MacBook Air models last month.

No word on when these new models will be announced, but chances are with WWDC 2015 kicking off on the 8th of June, we might learn more about the new models then. The last time the 15-inch Retina MacBook Pro was refreshed was in July of 2014, so we guess a mid-year refresh isn’t completely out of the question.
