bb8I am sure that movie buffs simply cannot wait for Star Wars: The Force Awakens to hit the silver screens, and as with anything that is worth waiting, it should be good – after all, without any Jar Jar Binks in the movie, there ought to be a marked improvement already. In fact, one of the earlier stars that has captured the hearts and minds of Star Wars fans would be the BB-8 rolling droid, where today’s keynote panel at the Star Wars Celebration convention in Anaheim, California, saw BB-8 actually appear on stage – to much applause and amusement, of course.

In fact, the BB-8 rolling droid was involved in a little “chirping” argument, so to speak, with the venerable R2-D2. It looks like R2-D2 is about to get some serious challenge for being the world’s favorite astromech droid from now on. Director J.J. Abrams did share that he originally wanted to rely on CGI to create BB-8, but realized that it was a whole lot easier for the actors to interact with a real-life puppet. Ah well, we will just have to wait for this December 18th to check out The Force Awakens, and see what the BB-8 rolling droid was, er, rolling away from.
