Anime fans are surely going to love this. 18 years after Dragon Ball GT ended it has now been confirmed that a new Dragon Ball series is going to debut this July. Its going to be the first new Dragon Ball series in almost two decades, and what’s even more exciting is the fact that series creator Akira Toriyama will once again be in charge of the new series.
It has been over 18 years since Dragon Ball GT ended with Goku defeating Majin Buu. The new series is going to be called Dragon Ball Chou, where Chou stands for Super.
The reason why they have decided to call the new series Chou is because this word is always used in Dragon Ball commercials, games and almost everything associated with it, so it made sense to use it for the moniker of the new series.
The new series takes place after Goku has defeated Majin Buu and the world is once again a peaceful place. As previously mentioned, the story will be handled by Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama, which means fans of the anime are certainly going to want to see the new series.
Dragon Ball Chou will first air in Japan this July.
