It goes without saying that just about the entire range of Windows Phone 8 Lumia smartphones would play nice with the Preview version of the soon-to-come Windows 10 OS. In fact, there has been a number of folks who have already given the test builds a go, and the amount of feedback received by Microsoft would have gone some way in assisting them to shape what would eventually be the ready to release version of Windows 10. The Windows 10 OS release is tipped to happen later this year, of course, and with a fair number of Windows Phone devices that remain outside of the Lumia range, only one of them has received the Windows 10 Preview treatment – which is none other than the HTC One M8 for Windows. It looks like the HTC 8X will be part of the list now, making it a twosome.
Apart from that, the HTC 8X will also be on the receiving end of the Technical Preview for Windows 10, where it will be part of the Windows Phone Recovery tool. This particular compatibility update ought to be released real soon, so you should be a wee bit more patient and ensure that you too, can enjoy it.
Do take note that all Windows Phone 8 smartphones will eventually gain an update to Windows 10, although only a small number will attempt to gain the Preview builds. Looks like there is life yet in a 3 year old smartphone after all.
