apple packagingWhen you walk into an Apple Store, you will notice that there is a glaring difference in design between the products offered by Apple in the form of official accessories, versus third-party accessories. The packaging is obviously different due to the fact that third-party manufacturers all have their own style when it comes to packaging their products.

However according to a report from 9to5Mac, it seems that all of that will soon change. According to their report and photos, it seems that Apple will be repackaging the products of third-party accessories to make them look more in line with the way Apple packages their own products.

Of course they won’t be doing this without their permission as Apple is said to have been working with select manufacturers in changing their packaging, at least as far as their Apple accessories are concerned, which you can see for yourself in the photo above where the packaging is now “cleaner” and sports a white design, similar to Apple’s own products.

So far the manufacturers that are supposedly on board with these changes include Tech21, Sena, Incase, Mophie, Logitech, and Life Proof. It is expected that over time more manufacturers will come on board and it seems like this is in line with Apple’s plans to redesign their stores. While we can appreciate the uniformity, we have to wonder if this could result in some manufacturers losing on sales as their packaging is no longer unique.
