fleksy-new

There’s no shortage of third-party keyboards but Fleksy is a name that stands out from the crowd. It has been around for quite some time now and is regarded as one of the most advanced third-party keyboards money can buy, or rather, money could buy as Fleksy has announced that starting today it’s keyboard will be available as a free download for everybody.

Previously Fleksy used to cost $1.99 and even then it was quite popular but now that it has gone free, Fleksy says it will be able to “serve a much larger and more diverse set of users.”

As a result of this decision Fleksy’s user base will definitely increase and the company will now focus on delivering new product improvements across all languages.

Fleksy co-Founder and CEO Kosta Eleftheriou says that “We want every smartphone user to have the opportunity to experience fast, expressive, and intuitive typing,” adding “We believe the best way to do this is to make the app free for everyone.”

Fleksy will make it up to people who did spend money to purchase this keyboard app, they’ll receive a few themes and extension slots for the app which normally cost $8.

As for the company’s revenue stream which now loses out on app sales, the company has made a business model change to rely entirely upon in-app purchases.
