AshleyMadisonWith all of the furore surrounding the Ashley Madison hack
, where additional information was leaked later on and blackmails kicking off, you can be sure that when it rains, it pours. In fact, Ashley Madison is now facing a $578 million class-action lawsuit by a couple of Canadian law firms. Charney Lawyers and Sutts, Strosberg LLP, filed this lawsuit on behalf of Canadians who subscribed to Ashley Madison, and had their personal information leaked.

One ought to take note, however, that this class-action status will still need certification from the court in order to be deemed so. Ashley Madison has not stepped forward by making a comment concerning the situation until now, although it has stressed that exposed personal details is no proof of a client’s infidelity. It is as though someone who is in a bar cannot be accused of getting drunk.

Over in the US, Missouri lawyers have filed a class-action lawsuit in U.S. District Court, where they are asking for over $5 million in damages. Many of the clients of the website are not too happy that their information was breached and leaked just like that, especially when a huge number of them forked out a wee bit extra to remove all of their user data, only to discover through this leak that the information remained there – for all and sundry to see in the leak. We hope to bring you the latest developments concerning this issue as time progresses.
