rolling-stones

Windows has come a long way over the past couple of decades, many of us remember using the early versions of this popular operating system and seeing it progress with every new iteration. Windows 95 was quite popular in its own right and Microsoft conducted a very big launch event for this particular iteration, Windows 95 was released on August 24th 1995 and today is its 20th anniversary. To commemorate the milestone Microsoft is providing a free Rolling Stones’ track to everybody.

If you remember the time when Windows 95 was released back in 1995 you might recall that the software’s launch was accompanied by a commercial set to “Start Me Up” by the Rolling Stones.

That’s precisely the reason why Microsoft is offering that iconic track for free, because it will forever have an association with Windows 95.

Nobody really uses that software anymore but I’m sure many have fond memories of it, I for one still remember the day I got my new PC with Windows 95, it was all the rage back then.

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of Windows 95 Microsoft is allowing everybody to download Start Me Up by the Rolling Stones for free until 11:59 pm PST from the Windows Store, go here to download the track if you’re interested.

This offer is only good for today so if you’d like to grab this track for free, you better hurry.
