anti-peeping-tom-droneCalifornia’s Governor Jerry Brown might have dropped some points in his popularity (depending on which side of the fence you are on anyway) having vetoed a proposed law for the Golden State to ban drones from flying below 350 feet over private property without permission. According to Gov. Jerry Brown, he more or less thought that the rule would “could expose the occasional hobbyist and the FAA-approved commercial user alike to burdensome litigation.” To put it in a layperson’s terms, such a rule can be easily and accidentally broken, leading to unnecessary costs and time involved in resolving a lawsuit.

Gov. Brown wrote, “This bill would enact trespass liability for anyone flying a drone less than 350 feet above real property without the express permission of the property owner, whether or not anyone’s privacy was violated by the flight. Let’s look at this more carefully.”

I hope that a solution can be come up soon in order to prevent Peeping Toms from making use of drones so that they can fulfill their lusts and fantasies of their victims who remain oblivious or are caught unawares. Do you think that this law should be enforced, or is Governor Jerry Brown right in his estimation?
