fb-notesIt was some time in the middle of last month when we brought you word that Facebook decided to revamp Notes in order to stir the hidden blogger in all of us, and it seems that their experimental makeover of Notes has proven to be a success. The Notes makeover involved allowing one to write some really long posts which are pleasantly formatted so that readers will be able to read it without ending up with sore eyes. This has prompted Facebook to announce its redesign as official, and the refreshed version of Notes is now available to all and sundry.

Do bear in mind that Notes has been ignored for many a year, with the last major update happening all the way back in 2010. I guess as Facebook continues to work on its publishing features for media outlets, it would also ensure that its 1 billion plus users will eventually want to migrate to Notes as their medium of choice when it comes to putting up blog posts.

This revamped version of Notes will now allow one to enjoy basic text formatting tools such as headers, block quotes and bulleted and numbered lists, alongside the ability to introduce cover images to each note. Of course, one can also opt to bold, underline and italicize text through keyboard shortcuts, albeit missing out on integrated buttons to get the job done. Note creation is, right now, limited to just the Web version only, but you can be sure that mobile versions should be up to date in due process. [Press Release]
