Back in the day when our parents would buy us cereal, there used to be toys stuffed inside of them. Granted some of these toys are a bit ridiculous and kind of cheap now that we think about it, but as a kid they were pretty cool. However it seems that Kellogg’s is trying to keep up with the times because now they’re bundling virtual reality headsets with their cereals.

As you can see in the video above, Kellogg’s will be giving customers a virtual reality headset with every purchase of Nutri-Grain cereal. However before you get too excited, this headset is more like Google Cardboard. Users will have to assemble it themselves, although this will only require scissors, a knife, and some sticky tape.

The headset is also more of a mount for your smartphone where along with an official app, users will be able to enjoy a variety of virtual reality-related content while they enjoy their breakfast cereal. This is actually a very good idea and if anything, it goes to show how virtual reality could potentially be the next big thing.

Unfortunately it seems that this virtual reality headset bundle is only available for those living in New Zealand. We’re not sure if the company has plans to bring it stateside or to other parts of the world, but if you really want it, perhaps you can find a way to get a box of Nutri-Grain from New Zealand imported.
