You might have heard that Hurricane Patricia is making landfall in Mexico, it’s said to be one of the most powerful hurricanes to have ever made landfall there, naturally people are concerned about their friends and family in the area. To ensure that its customers can stay in touch with their loved loves T-Mobile has announced that it’s making calls and texts to and from Mexico absolutely free, this includes Puerto Rico as well as free calling and texting within Mexico itself.

T-Mobile details that free calling to and from Mexico is free from October 23rd to November 7th, even though this has just been announced, T-Mobile will provide retroactive credits to customers who have made calls or sent texts from October 23rd.

Under Magenta’s Mobile Without Borders program most of its customers already get free calling and texting to Mexico, but in the wake of Hurricane Patricia the carrier is expanding it to all Simple Choice, Pay-in-Advance, MetroPCS, WalMart Family Mobile and GoSmart Mobile customers till November 7th.

It’s a good initiative on T-Mobile part to expand this even on its prepaid brands, thus ensuring that any and all of its customers are able to get in touch with their loved ones in Mexico without having to worry about how much it will cost them to call or send a text. That’s not something people want to concern themselves with during such times.
