With the launch of the iPad Pro, Apple also unveiled new accessories for it, one of which is the Smart Keyboard. Basically this is a keyboard accessory that will dock the iPad Pro and let you type with it. Similar keyboard cases have been created for Apple’s other iPads before, but this would be the first official one.

However you should probably take good care of it because according to a recent teardown of the keyboard by the folks at iFixit, they have given the keyboard a 0/10 in terms of repairability, with 0 being the lowest score possible, suggesting that repairing it is pretty much impossible and you shouldn’t try.

Why is this? Simply due to the design which according to iFixit, “While durable, the keyboard is impossible to open without damaging, meaning no internal components can be replaced without destroying the device.” Basically the keyboard’s design makes it so that once you begin removing components, that’s the end of it as there’s no putting it back together.

As far as accessories go, the Smart Keyboard is also a bit pricey at $169. There are larger mechanical keyboards for computers that retail for less, but we guess if you wanted an official accessory for your iPad Pro, for now there aren’t many options available.
