It seems that in an effort to promote Rise of the Tomb Raider in the UK, Microsoft has launched a contest in which 8 contestants will stand on a platform and be subject to a variety of weather conditions. Dubbed the Survival Billboard, basically the idea is that the last person standing will win a trip to various exotic locations around the world.

Now as it stands, there are 4 contestants remaining and so far, they have been put through various conditions include snow, wind, rain, and heat. We know that this basically sounds a lot like a game/reality show but here’s the twist: viewers will be able to control the weather conditions via Twitch.

Every hour, viewers will be able to vote for the various weather conditions that they want the contestants to experience next, so in a way you are sort of in control of their “torture”. The contest will last a good 24 hours, so it will be interesting to see who will remain standing at the end of it.

Also as the name suggests, this is conducted on a billboard which is basically by the side of the road, so not only will drivers get to see it, but passerbys as well. Talk about good marketing, no doubt this will help spread the word of Rise of the Tomb Raider which is due for a release in Europe on the 13th of November.
