cloud ff7It has been a while since Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros. was launched, but the good news is that Nintendo still has things left to announce, so much so that the company has revealed that come December 15th, they will be holding a Nintendo Direct conference in which additional information about the game will be shared with gamers.

However interestingly enough according to the message on Nintendo’s website, it seems that this will be the last Nintendo Direct presentation for Super Smash Bros. According to the message, “Catch the final video presentation dedicated to Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U on Dec. 15 at 2 p.m. PT. Masahiro Sakurai will provide details on Cloud and more in this worldwide broadcast.”

We’re not sure what Nintendo could mean by this. Could it be that the company will be winding down the updates and further development of the game to focus more on its upcoming Nintendo NX console? That is one possibility that has been speculated. Another has suggested that the message simply implies that this could be the last one dedicated to Super Smash Bros., and that future updates will still be announced alongside other announcements.

In any case chances are we still most likely be treated to release dates for future content, like the addition of Final Fantasy VII’s Cloud to the roster, so remember to check back with us next week for the details.
