arcimoto-1[CES 2016] Cruisin’ around the neighborhood on a Saturday night in a hot hatch is definitely something that some of us aspire to achieve in our lives, although as the days go by, earning that kind of insane money to splurge on a 2-door exotic sports car ends up as that – just a dream. Perhaps we might want to set our sights lower, where a more alternative ride could come into the picture. Arcimoto has decided to show off their latest Generation 8 SRK Prototype.

The ultra-efficient SRK has been touted to be the first truly affordable, full-utility, pure electric
vehicle that will cater for the everyday driver. Of course, there are no panels all over the place, so do not expect to walk away from a serious accident, and neither will it protect you from splashes of water while you ride it in the rain, but it will sure as heck turn heads whenever you take it out for a spin – with your date in tow behind you, hands hugging you tightly.

Arcimoto means “Future I Drive” and happens to be the company and its customers’ aspiration: which is to devise and adopt new technologies and patterns of mobility that together raise the bar for environmental efficiency, footprint and affordability. This SRK ride boasts of tandem seating for two passengers, a full enclosure space frame, plenty of space for groceries, dual-motor front-wheel drive, and an optimal center of gravity, where it will come with an initial target base price of $11,900 with production set to kick off at the end of this year.
