TV networks have become well aware of the fact that people are now more inclined to pay for their content through monthly subscriptions with no long term contracts as opposed to lengthy subscriptions with tedious commitments. That’s a major reason why most of them have launched online streaming services for their own, and according to a new report, next in line to launch its own streaming service is the CW Network.
In case you weren’t aware the CW Network is jointly owned by CBS and Time Warner. Bloomberg reports that since their streaming deals with Hulu and Netflix are about to end it’s possible that the companies might decide to offer online streaming of the CW Network.
The service they end up launching might be similar to CBS All Access which not only provides access to a live TV feed but also to the network’s library of previous shows. The report mentions that a price has not yet been settled for the new streaming service but Time Warner and CBS might decide to fix it between $2 and $4 per month. That’s a bit lower than CBS All Access which costs $6 per month.
It remains to be seen though whether or not viewers will go for it, the thing is that these monthly subscriptions can quickly add up and between the likes of Netflix and Hulu aside from music streaming services, users who don’t have much to spare for subscription services might only choose those that provide the best value.
