netflix-logoIt looks like Netflix ain’t too happy with “unblockers” of their service, and hence, have decided to kick start a crackdown campaign on them. In fact, it was reported last week that Netflix VPN users will face resistance in due time, basically folks who make use of VPNs or other routes to access geo-restricted content will not have it their way for long. uFlix, a paid service that allows just about anyone in Australia to alter their IP address as well as DNS settings for entertainment purposes, has announced that Netflix has already started the blockade – meaning the old methods won’t work any more, and users in Australia will no longer be able to view US-only videos.

Netflix would inform Australian customers, “You seem to be using an unblocker or proxy. Please turn off any of these services and try again” if they happen to take that route. The thing is, this particular blockade session does not affect all users – for now. In other words, it is something that is set to increase in numbers down the road, and uFlix has this to say, “We are working on a solution to get around these new measures and apologize for the inconvenience to those who are currently only getting Australian Netflix.”

Chances are also pretty high that Netflix will expand this practice to other parts of the world where Netflix is available.
