zeissexolensWhen it comes to lens accessories for smartphones, you have companies like Olloclip, Moment, and Schneider Optics to choose from. However apart from Schneider Optics, neither Olloclip nor Moment really operate in the camera market save for their lens attachments for smartphones.

Now if you’re looking for more lens accessories for your smartphone but would prefer someone more established, you might be interested to learn that ZEISS has recently announced that they will be launching their own lens accessories as well. This is thanks to a partnership with Fellowes Brands.

The ZEISS lenses will fall under the ExoLens brand and will feature ZEISS optics, naturally, and will be made with anodized aluminum, so as you can see from the photos, the end result is a very elegant design which actually looks like a miniaturized version of their camera lenses. They will feature T* anti-reflective coating, and will all clip to a special mount designed for phones.

The mount not only secures the lens, but will also provide a screw so you can pop it on your tripod.

There will be three options to choose from: a macro, wide-angle, and a telephoto. The macro and wide-angle will be sold together for $300, while the telephoto is priced at $199 and will be sold separately. They are expected to be available in the second quarter of 2016 and will only be compatible with Apple’s iPhone 6/6s and 6/6s Plus at launch.
