We have heard that HERE Maps has left the building, and Microsoft has promised an exciting update for Windows 10 Maps. It looks like the day has arrived, as spanking new features of the Windows Map app has been detailed by none other than Microsoft, and some of the new features which will be thrown into the mix include multiple search functionality.
Multiple search functionality would enable one to check out a few searches on a single map view – all done simultaneously, now how about that for being more efficient when it comes to making plans? Imagine searching for hotels and restaurants within the same area, you can then have a better idea as to what restaurants are near which hotels.
Apart from that, the User Interface has also been improved, making sure that you can also continue to enjoy it with a single hand. Not only that, Microsoft has also introduced the presence of labels for search results directly on the map, as opposed to referencing numbers on the search list.
Other improvements will also include Improved Nearby search results, better screen usage as search results can be minimized, in addition to those of directions and location info, 3D cities getting search, and a better way to manage your favorites since they are now offline. You can also enjoy turn by turn directions in Cortana’s voice when enabled, with support for English (United States), English (United Kingdom), Simplified Chinese (China), French (France), Italian (Italy), German (Germany) and Spanish (Spain) at the moment.
