All sorts of rumors are floating around these days about the iPhone 7, and the latest suggests that not only will the next iPhone be waterproof but apparently it’s also going to have a digital home button that’s going to be flush with the display. Apple has never done anything of the sort before on the iPhone so it’s definitely going to be a major change on the company’s part if it does end up doing this to the iPhone.

Ever since the iPhone first came out in 2007 it has always had a home button. Almost a decade has passed and that’s one key element that Apple has never taken out.

Today’s report out of China claims that the iPhone 7 is going to have a digital home button, not unlike the touch-based buttons you find on an Android device, so it’s going to be completely flush with the display and won’t offer feedback like the traditional home button does.

Whether or not Apple does that remains to be seen, it’s also rumored to be considering making the iPhone 7 dust and waterproof, giving it similar credentials to the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge. That’s also not something that Apple has done with the iPhone before so it will be interested to see if this really happens with the iPhone 7.
