Samsung-Gear-360-Camera-01_900

Samsung has finally confirmed the release date of the Gear 360 VR camera which was announced earlier this year with the company’s new flagship smartphones, the Galaxy S7, and Galaxy S7 Edge. This camera allows anyone and everyone to easily capture 360-degree footage which can then be viewed using a VR headset like the Samsung Gear VR.

Even though it comes in a very compact body and weighs just 145 grams, the Gear 360 VR is actually a very serious camera, with 2 fish-eye 195-degree lenses and f2.0 aperture. It has two microphones and a universal tripod mount at the bottom. Check out our review of the Samsung Gear 360 to find out more.

The camera is capable of capturing 30 megapixels images in photo mode while the video mode enables them to record sub-UHD video at 3840×1920 and 30 frames-per-second. Gear 360 features a microSD card slot for storage, has a removable battery and a microUSB connector for charging.

When the camera was unveiled earlier this year, Samsung didn’t confirm how much it’s going to cost and when it’s going to be released. At least it has confirmed one of those crucial details today.

Samsung says that it’s going to release the Gear 360 camera on April 29th, which is only two days away, but it didn’t confirm how much the camera is going to cost. I guess it won’t be long before it reveals the official price tag as well.
